Work has commenced on the new £200 million Jaguar Land Rover Design and Engineering Centre at Gaydon in Warwickshire. It is intended that the site will become one of the world’s foremost automotive product, engineering and design sites creating a unique, landscaped campus.
Designed by architects Bennetts Associates, the new facility will centralise design, product engineering and purchasing functions in an original and modern environment, as well as creating additional capacity for continued global growth.
GBE Converge have been appointed by Crown House Technologies (CHt), part of Main Contractor Laing O’Rourke, to design, supply, install and commission a new Fire System into the existing network along with the Disabled Refuge and WC Alarm Systems. GBE Converge’s design involvement during the tender process helped the CHt team approve the fire design system, ensuring compliance and effectiveness.
GBE Converge will be working with partners Advanced, Apollo and Baldwin Boxall on the project and are due to commence on-site in November 2017. GBE Converge’s Business Development Manager Paul Walsh commented “To be part of a project that will be leading the way in the global Automotive industry is a testament to GBE Converge’s expertise. Our technical team’s insight and involvement at such an early stage of this large-scale and intricate building will provide huge value to the project.”
